Mardi Gras 2018 - Supplies & Ideas!

From 16 February to 4 March of this year, the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras will be running, with heaps of events and the world famous parade taking place! This year is the 40^th anniversary of the original Mardi Gras, making it an extra special event worth celebrating (and let’s not forget that same-sex marriage is legal now!)

Whether you’re going to the festival in Sydney, or you’re celebrating at home, there’s heaps of ways to mark the event. Rainbows, glitter and love is all you need to celebrate Mardi Gras 2018 in appropriate fashion!

You can’t forget all of the rainbow flags to decorate (and some waving rainbow flags so everyone can show their pride!) There’s a plethora of rainbow decorations & balloons that can be used to cover any space in pure colour!

Match these with some fabulous rainbow costume accessories to get everyone involved! Suspenders, wings, bandanas, necklaces, hats, fans and much, much more! A healthy dash of some glitter face and body paint is also sure to get the Mardi Gras spirit spreading!

Some sweet treats will be a big hit at any Mardi Gras celebration! Some rainbow cookies, rainbow iced cupcakes (or a rainbow cake - cake decorating supplies available here) will be popular with any crowd! And these treats must be served with some drinks, obviously! Whilst you could increase the rainbows even more with some rainbow themed drinks, you could always serve the treats alongside some bubbly (an effortless classic!)
