Sunday 17th March 2019 is St Patricks Day and who doesn’t love an excuse to party and have a drink or two… just make sure you’re all good for work the next day if you have more than a few (whoops!).
But what to wear??
You can’t go on a St Patricks Day pub crawl without wearing everything green (or at least one thing anyway). So your very first stop obviously has to be Shindigs to get what you need! Shindigs has stock upon stock of green dress up items specifically for this day so come in and take a look!
If you’re looking for a cute St Paddy’s outfit, here is our top two looks for under $30:
Girls: A simple White Tee matched with a Green Tutu, Shamrock Suspenders and a Pot’o’Gold Headband = too cute! You can even have St Patricks themed Nail Designs with our Shamrock Nail Stickers.
Boys: A White collared shirt under our Green Shamrock Vest and Bowtie set. Complete the look with a Green Top hat with Gold buckle and a pair of “Kiss Me” or “Get Lucky” St Patricks Day novelty glasses.
This is just one leaf of the shamrock when it comes to Shindigs extensive array of Irish Costumes, for a look into everything they have CLICK HERE
Once you’ve got your Leprechaun attire on, and if you’re as keen as a lima bean we do have a hilarious full Leprechaun Costume complete with a hoop waist, it’s time to start crawling (pub crawling that is).
Ok l'm dressed and ready, now where to go??
As the luck of the Irish would have it, there are 5 prime spots in the heart of Newcastle where you’ll want to be on March 17 and we’re just a few k’s from your first pint.
Your second stop after visiting us at Shindigs should be The Duke of Wellington in New Lambton, they’re starting their Irish jig in the afternoon with fun pub games, live music and prizes for best dressed so make sure you go green from head to toe.
Next up The Northern Star Hotel on Beaumont Street, and then just around the corner– The Green Roof on Tudor St (could they have a more suitable name). Just another short trek into town you’ve got Finnegans Irish Pub and then finish it up (hopefully still in style) at The Lucky.
If you’re looking for something a bit more rambunctious with a country landscape then you’ll need to head into the Hunter Valley to the well-known Harrigans Irish Pub – they will be celebrating all weekend and with the promise of Live Music and Irish dancing it’s definitely a must see. Just don’t turn up wearing something Red (your going to be the odd one out for sure).
We might not be able to talk the lingo like the Irish but we can certainly drink like them and with how hot our days can be the must have for all St Patricks Day attendees is this: Pint Shamrock Freezer Mug. It has hollow walls filled with salt water, just pop it in the freezer the night before and have your Guinness stay colder for longer.
Don’t be green with envy this St Patricks Day just shop at Shindigs in Newcastle and you’ll be have a Shamrocking good time!
